ICD Dappar: the Tricity's own dry port

ICD Dappar, on the Chandigarh–Ambala road, takes export containers with rail to Mundra, Pipavav and JNPT; the Ludhiana depots (Sahnewal, Kanech, Dhandari Kalan) are an alternative when a lane's consolidation is closing there. The Tricity's second and third lanes bring the strictest biosecurity regimes. Punjab and Haryana households — and the village homes we consolidate from — often include items those countries examine closely:

• Sports gear — kabaddi mats, cricket kits, hockey sticks, football boots: scrubbed free of soil and grass, declared.
• Farm and garden tools, even ornamental ones: cleaned to bare metal or left behind.
• Wooden furniture and charpais, cane and jute items: free of bark, borer and soil, declared; treatment may be ordered at destination.
• Food — home-made pinni, pickles, desi ghee, grains, dals: assume refusal for Australia and New Zealand; ship cookware, not ingredients.
