Hyderabad is roughly equidistant from India's coasts, but its export infrastructure points to the Bay of Bengal. Household containers are consolidated or stuffed at ICD Sanathnagar or the Kukatpally CFS, then railed to Chennai, Krishnapatnam or Visakhapatnam for sailing. For the US East Coast, Australia and Singapore this is efficient; for the Gulf and Europe, some lanes route via a west-coast port instead when schedules favour it.
