ICD Jaipur (Kanakpura): no need to go to Delhi

ICD Jaipur at Kanakpura, CONCOR's depot on the city's western side, handles export containers with rail services to Mundra, Pipavav and JNPT. For a Jaipur household that means an LCL consignment is consolidated in Jaipur and a container is stuffed here — not trucked 270 km to a Delhi depot. We route via Delhi only when a destination's shared container is closing there and the rail slot is materially better; the quote names the depot and cut-off.

Shipping Jaipur's signature items

Marble and stone. Marble tops, inlaid tables and stone statues are heavy and crack under point loads. Each top is separated from its base, edge-protected, sandwiched between foam and plywood, and crated on its edge, not flat. Weight drives LCL volume-weight calculations, so a marble dining set costs more to ship than its size suggests — we show you the number before you decide.

Carved sheesham, mango wood and teak. Almirahs, jharokhas, chests and beds are dismantled where joints allow, wrapped film-over-blanket, and crated when carving is deep. For Australia and New Zealand, untreated or carved wood is a declared biosecurity item: it must be free of bark, borer holes and soil, and may be ordered for treatment at destination at your cost. We inspect every piece at survey and tell you which carry that risk. For the USA, Canada, UK and Europe, carved furniture is simply inventoried and usually worth the freight.

Blue pottery, glass and brass. Individually wrapped, cell-packed in double-wall cartons, and marked fragile with carton numbers on the inventory so a destination inspector can find them without unpacking the lot.

Brass and silver puja items travel everywhere; plant-based puja materials stay home for Australia and New Zealand.

Jaipur homes and Jaipur heat

• Bungalows in Malviya Nagar, C-Scheme, Bani Park and Civil Lines usually allow a container vehicle at the gate, so FCL stuffing at home is practical.
• Apartments in Vaishali Nagar, Mansarovar, Jagatpura and Pratap Nagar need society permission and lift slots; a mid-size vehicle shuttles to Kanakpura where container access is restricted.
• Walled City and older Jaipur homes: hand-carry to a wide road, priced at survey.
• April–June heat above 42 °C degrades tape and cartons in unshaded vehicles; we pack in morning windows, use heavy-duty export cartons and keep loaded trucks shaded until they move.
