Direct to Nhava Sheva: what it changes

For a landlocked origin, cartons travel to a dry port, are consolidated, railed to the coast and handled again. From Mumbai, a shared LCL container is consolidated at a CFS near Nhava Sheva — Dronagiri, Uran, Panvel — and loaded on the next sailing; an FCL container can be stuffed at your building (where the society allows a container vehicle) and sealed once. Practically:

• Weekly or better sailings on the Gulf, UK/Europe and Singapore lanes; frequent departures to the US East Coast and Australia.
• Shorter origin lead time — packing to on-board is often 7–10 days rather than 2–3 weeks.
• One less handling for LCL, which matters for glass, marble and crockery.

The trade-off: Mumbai CFS and port charges are real costs and appear as separate lines in your quote, not buried in a "handling" lump.

The Mumbai destination mix

Mumbai's overseas corridors are the oldest in India. What we see most, and what to read first:

• Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah — a short sea hop, but the shipment must not land before your residence visa; see India to UAE.

Monsoon packing: June to September

A container that is stuffed wet grows mould in three weeks at sea. Mumbai's monsoon is the single biggest quality risk on this origin, so our monsoon protocol is not optional:

• Packing is scheduled for dry-hour windows, with a covered vehicle at the building and a tarpaulin corridor from lobby to truck.
• Moisture barriers: silica-gel packs in cartons of books, linen and electronics; furniture wrapped in film over blanket, not blanket alone; mattresses in sealed poly.
• No stuffing in rain: FCL containers are stuffed at a covered CFS bay rather than in the open at your building during active rainfall.
• Timing advice: if your dates are flexible, pack in the drier months; if not, we build a day of weather slack into the plan.

Mumbai buildings: lifts, lanes and NOCs

• Old buildings without lifts in Bandra, Khar, Dadar, Matunga, Girgaum and Colaba: the crew hand-carries; large pieces may need dismantling; priced at survey per floor.
• Narrow lanes and BMC parking: a container vehicle often cannot reach the gate; we use a mid-size vehicle and transfer at the CFS.
• Society NOC and timing: most co-operative housing societies want a written NOC, a security deposit and a fixed slot; many restrict work on Sundays and public holidays.
• High-rises in Powai, Lower Parel, Wadala, Goregaon: service-lift booking and lift padding; podium access varies.

Storage before sailing

Mumbai leases and licence agreements rarely end on a sailing date. Packed export consignments can be held at a bonded or private warehouse near Nhava Sheva or, for longer holds, at our Gurgaon facility; rates are on the charges page.
