Kolkata by road, or Dadri by rail

• Kolkata CFS (road, ~400 km, one to two days) — the default for LCL. The consignment joins a consolidation near the Kolkata docks and sails from Kolkata or Haldia, usually transhipping at Colombo or a Southeast Asian hub. Good for the USA, UK, Canada and Australia; long ocean legs.
• ICD Dadri (rail via Delhi) — considered for the Gulf and parts of Europe, where a direct west-coast sailing from Mundra or Nhava Sheva can beat a transhipped eastern route despite the longer inland leg.
• FCL — a container is stuffed at a Ranchi bungalow where a container vehicle reaches the gate, sealed, and trucked to Kolkata; or goods shuttle to Kolkata and the box is stuffed at the CFS.

The quote names the route and shows the road or rail leg as its own line. Air freight: the first-fortnight box flies from Kolkata (NSCBI) or Delhi (IGI); Ranchi airport has no meaningful international cargo.

The real timeline from Ranchi

Because of the road leg and the transhipment, Ranchi's door-to-door times are among India's longest, and we would rather you plan around them than be surprised:

• Gulf: five to seven weeks (via Kolkata) or four to six (via Dadri and a west-coast port).
• UK and Europe: eight to ten weeks.
• USA and Canada: nine to twelve weeks.
• Australia and New Zealand: eight to ten weeks.

Book the survey about three months before you want goods at the new address. If your travel date is fixed and near, the air box carries what you need first.

PSU quarters and mining-town pickups

Ranchi, Bokaro and Jamshedpur households often live in PSU or company quarters — CCL, HEC, SAIL, Tata — with a handover date that precedes any sailing. We pack to the handover date, hold inventoried goods in a Ranchi or Kolkata warehouse, and dispatch on the container cut-off, with GST invoices prepared as the employer's reimbursement rules require. • Bungalows on Kanke Road, Bariatu and Morabadi: container vehicle at the gate is often possible; hilly approaches are checked at survey.
• Apartments in Harmu, Lalpur, Doranda, Hinoo and Ashok Nagar: society permission and lift slots; a mid-size vehicle shuttles.
• June–September monsoon: moisture protection in cartons and a road buffer for the Kolkata leg, which can slow on wet ghats.
